Through our groundbreaking research programme, RAFT’s scientists are close to a breakthrough that will transform breast reconstruction surgery for women worldwide.
The Life After Breast Cancer Fund is raising £2 million to fund two research projects that will deliver reliable surgical procedures within the next two years.
Each year, millions of pounds are poured into research into breast cancer treatment, but we believe that RAFT is the only organisation researching techniques to improve breast reconstruction surgery. We understand that for women who have experienced lumpectomy and mastectomy the journey doesn’t end when the treatment finishes. In many cases, it is just beginning.
We want to give women access to breast reconstruction surgery that will quickly rebuild the shape, appearance and feel they want, so they can concentrate on rebuilding their lives, not their bodies.
